PEACE IN THE MESS---LIKE A PEANUT IN THE BATHTUB

We all know good times. Those times when life is fun. We all know troubled times,too. Those times when every day we have to get up, pick up that trouble as well as we can and carry it everywhere we go.
Pretty soon our problem is so big we can't see around it. We imagine that it is as big as a giant, heavy, ugly boulder; and we can hardly carry it. But we hold onto it tightly because it is our problem to solve.
Imagine the "bigness" of God--His grace, love, mercy, compassion, faithfulness, wisdom and power!
Imagine yourself upon a mountain top. Now, carry that weight over to the edge of that mountain and throw your oversized boulder of trouble into the waiting hands of God.
All at once you will feel that massive, oppressive weight that you have been carrying around breathlessly rattle around like a peanut in a bathtub. In God's hands problems are reduced to their real size and this reality should cause you to never take it back.
The Bible asks who can change one thing by worrying and reminds us lest we forget,that human beings are not all-powerful.
Throwing problems over the edge doesn't make them disappear. God says nothing about that. And it doesn't make them any less serious, because the facts don't change. But it will make the problem manageable because you finally relinquish control of it to God.
With God in control, you seek and understand His teachings, find insight to do what you know and learn what you don't. Then finding out your importance to God...brings peace no matter what happens and you'll have the strength and the courage to carry on.
